The aim of the meeting is to summarise recent advances in string theory, mainly concerning mathematical aspects of the theory. Topics that will be covered include black hole state counting, AdS/QCD as well as different aspects of topological string and field theory. Each lecturer will give two to three lectures, and there will be three lectures per day. There will also be time for a few seminars by other participants.

The workshop will take place the week before the conference Strings '08 at CERN.
